In the first half of the 3rd bachelor year you are required to create your own customized programme of 30 EC. In order to do so you can choose to do an internship in block 3.1 & 3.2 which will be awarded with 25 EC.
Students that do a curricular internship as part of their RSM BSc Curriculum learn to:
- Set personal learning goals
- Monitor and develop personal and professional skills
- Develop their professional identity
- Apply academic knowledge
When searching for an internship, it is important to be aware of the requirements imposed on you as well as the internship position.
You can only start an internship if you have completed the first year of your BSc programme (60 EC). This means that any resits needs to be passed before the start of the internship.
It is possible to search for and register an internship before completing your first year. But please know you are not allowed to start the internship yet.
The internship position needs to meet the following criteria:
- The internship takes place between Monday 24 August 2026 and Friday 18 December 2026 with a minimum duration of 14 weeks on a full-time basis (40 hours per week).
- You can start earlier than 24 August 2026 or continue the internship beyond 18 December 2026 but this is on a voluntary basis.
- The start date of the internship can be no later than Monday 14 September 2026.
- Since you must allow a minimum of 5 working days between the registration on OsirisCase and the start date of the internship, the latest possible registration date is Monday 7 September 2026.
- A clear job description must be provided, outlining tasks and responsibilities sufficiently challenging for a Bachelor 3 student;
- There is a dedicated Internship Supervisor with the professional and academic abilities that you yourself are working towards, who will offer you guidance and regular feedback;
- You are expected to seek out an internship position at a medium- or large sized organization or business unit. The definition of a medium-sized organization can be fuzzy, but the organization or business unit must have at least 10fte. This is the absolute, non-negotiable, minimum and we will check that this is the case or ask for proof.
- Since in-person interaction for hands- on training, building workplace relationships, and gaining practical exposure to the organizational environment is necessary, internships cannot be done remotely.
- You cannot be the owner or manager of the organization;
- You do not have any familial relationships with the owner(s) or manager of the organization or business unit;
- You do not have more than two months (fulltime or parttime) prior work experience at the organization or business unit.
- You are strongly encouraged (but not expected) to search for an internship position in an international context, especially if you are an IBA student.
